The WiFi icon gives an indication of the communication status. You will find a printable summary here for the icons that can appear at the start of a game.
The quality of the signal is indicated in this way: The two icons to the right indicatee that the signal is so weak that it might be necessary to bring the BT to the WiFi base station when communication is needed.
Green WiFi icon indicates that the BridgeTab (BT) has establíshed contact with the control software. Pale green indicates that it is more than a minute since the last communication with the control software.
Grey icon is a variation of the green icon indicating that communication has been established BUT game not yet been started by the TD.
If the icon switches to grey after game start it is because the TD has stopped the game in the control software. i.e. you have to wait for the TD to restart the game.
Blue icon indicates that the BT uses a hard-coded IP.
A red crossed over WiFi icon indicates that WiFi is OFF.
Red (not crossed over) icon indicates that no network has been set.
Red with ? mark indicates that the BT’s network setting has been changed. This need not be a problem if the current network is also used by the PC running the control software. Note that you (or the TD) has to command NEW GAME in the TD menu to make the START button appear.
Orange indicates that the last used IP has ceased to work. The reason could be that the signal is poor and the BT needs to be brought closer to the WiFi base. If all BTs have the same problem you should check that the control software is connected to the same network as the BTs use.
