Import Deals

IMPORTING DEALS VIA BOS
We recommend that you start BOS before starting BTC  if deals are not created automatically within the BOS system. Click
in BOS' main interface and drag the source file into the dialog that appears (see illustration to the right).

We recommend that you set up automatic transfer of the deals to BOS if you use Duplimapp [for duplication] on the scoring computer.

IMPORTING DEALS INTO BTC
Deals can be imported into BTC via FILE/Import deals, which opens a Windows  file dialog with .dlm as the default file format. i.e. you might have to change the file format. BTC will warn if you change to “All filetypes”  and select a file that cannot be recognised, see illustration to the right.

Note that there is a file conversion tool in BOS that can prove useful if you have a deals file that BTC does not recognise.

BTC will tell when deals have been imported. You can check that it is the right deals by clicking the Dealing program button in the main interface.

Players enter deals
The players will get the opportunity to enter the deals that they have just played when the Game Setting Ask for deal is ticked. If the table is late for a round change, you should tell them to skip the deal entry. That will have the effect that the next table playing the board will be prompted to enter the deal.

SHOW DEALS
The players will tell when something has gone wrong if you enable the option Show deal in Game Settings.

Correcting deals
Were the players complaining that the just played deal is not identical with the deal that the BT shows the remedy depend on how far into the session you are. If it is the first round we recommend that you make the deal on file match the deal in the board. If, on the other hand, the deal has been played numerous times when the players complain about a mismatch, you have to handledthe case in the SP. See the Handrecords headline below if you conclude that you need two versions of the handrecords.\

FILE/Export deals creates a deal file for third party usage. We recommend that you use the .pbn file format because that contains more data (e.g. the bidding) than the other deal formats.

Handrecords
You can let BTC and/or BOS create handrecords. If a deal has been changed [by the players] during the session we suggest that you let BTC generate handrecords of the original deals and use BOS/Edit for amending the deals so that they fit what was played at the end of the session.

Web publish
You can let BTC create web pages with deals and scores if you have set up a Web Publish account. This function requires a licence. We recommend that you first try it with a [free of charge) test licence.
