You can create a traditional LAN if you play in several rooms. This solution is to prefer if there are well separated groups. The Networking memo shows the principle.
Alternatively you can use WiFi repeaters. These also need to have connection by cable to main access point, but there are easy to use repeaters that connect via power outlets. c.f. the memo Several WiFi access points for details.
